In becoming a Seventh-Adventist, Daniel was following in the footsteps of his father Mr. Huber Duffis and grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Jane Duffis-Schmidt.
Pastor Daniel Duffis graduated from the Seventh-day Adventist University in Medellín, Colombia, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Theology (1982) and Education (1990). From Loma Linda University, California, in 1990, he graduated also with a Master’s degree in Public Health.
Pastor Duffis married the former Martha Gordon in 1984, who holds a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science from Atlantic Union College, and is also a Certified Family Life Educator, and is currently pursuing her certification as a Chaplain at Robert Woods Johnson Hospital. They have three children: Steve Paul, Daniel Matthew, and Rhoda Abigail.
Pastor Duffis is the author of three books on the history of the SDA church: A Blessed Heritage, (History of the SDA church in Colombian Islands, 2000), Legacy of Faith (History of the church in ABC islands, 2004), and Perseverers (the History of the Burlington SDA in New Jersey, USA). He is presently completing the biography of B. L. Archbold, former president of the Inter-American Division, and also a History of the New Brunswick English SDA Church in New Jersey.
Pastor Duffis has work for the church in Colombia, the former Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, and the United States for almost 29 years, and has been a teacher, pastor, evangelist, administrator, serving as President of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba Conference for 14 years, where his family lived for almost twenty years. He has preached over 100 evangelistic series in Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, various islands of the Caribbean, The Netherlands and the United States.
Currently he works for the New Jersey Conference and is ministering to the First Bilingual, Burlington, and New Brunswick churches.
His passion is preaching the gospel and exalting Jesus.
